Yosemite National Park turned 135 years old on October 1, 2025. Thanks to President Benjamin Harrison for signing a protection act to preserve this special spot in California for everyone to enjoy. This is one of the oldest national parks in the world. Yosemite is known for its giant sequoia trees, huge waterfalls, and high cliffs
Yosemite beauty has brought many tourists over the years. The park which is more than 1,500 square miles is home to many popular attractions such as the Yosemite Falls, El Capitan, and Half Dome. Many animals, such as foxes, deer, and black bears, live inside the park. Long before this area was turned into a national park, the Native Americans tribes were actually the ones who cared for it.
Today, Yosemite still attracts over four million visitors yearly. But the park has to deal with issues like drought, wildfires, and climate change. Volunteers and rangers put a lot of effort into protecting the park’s wildlife and beauty. By following these regulations and maintaining the area’s cleanliness, visitors are asked to help preserve the park’s beauty by cleaning up after themselves. Honoring Yosemite’s 135th birthday is a reminder how national parks have brought people together. They provide people the opportunity to relax and get away from their personal lives, learn more about history, and experience what nature has to offer. As it did when it originally opened in 1890. Hopefully, future generations will also be able to appreciate Yosemite’s beauty if it is preserved for the upcoming years.
