On November 18th, 2022, Weak Hero Class 1 was released. Weak Hero is a Korean Drama about a top student who fights off bullies using his brain to be able to protect himself from being messed with. Weak Hero was recommended to me by a friend, however I didn’t really watch it until now since I never really watched K-dramas. There are spoilers ahead so if you don’t want any spoilers but want to know my opinion for some reason. I highly recommend giving Weak Hero a shot, since I personally enjoyed it as my first K-drama.

I really enjoyed season 1. I really like the dynamic of Si-eun and his two friends that he managed to make despite being lonely all of his life. I liked how he was mostly reserved and kept to himself, but opened up more when he actually found people that liked him. I also really like the fight scenes, especially since Si-eun doesn’t know how to fight, but is able to use his brain to make up for it.
I also like a character named Beom-seok. The way he was bullied in his last school and had big insecurities about himself since he’s always been pushed around. Seeing him becoming the people who pushed him around is interesting to me. Though I don’t agree with his actions of betraying his friend group and putting a person into a coma, I do like his character.
However the ending of season 1 Weak Hero is satisfying to me. The way Si-eun watches the video of his friend getting jumped into a coma and immediately went down to find every single person in the video to beat them up. However I also liked the fact that even though Beom-seok was the main reason why Su-ho went into a coma, Si-eun hesitated on punching him. Showing that Si-eun showed deep hatred for what he did, but still saw him as the friend he had.
I give season 1 a 9/10, I like the characters and the visuals. The little details about the show are so fascinating to me. Every character feels real in some way shape or form.
