Recently in Blackfoot High School, they introduced a program called Career Pathways. It sets up a system of different pathways to take after high school so you have an idea of what to do. Pathways like CTE, military, and art are just 3 examples of what we are looking at.
My personal opinion is that I don’t really like it, mostly because there’s certain classes to take once you pick one pathway to go down. Which stressed me out the most while choosing classes once they introduced it since I like to experiment what classes I take and try new things. However this sort of made me worry that I was too late to take certain classes, which caused me to delay some classes I wanted to take next year to the year after that.
I can see why we started using Career Pathways since it can help guide students with experience of their future careers. It will definitely help any students that need the help this can give, however for me personally it was pretty terrible to be introduced to me during my sophomore year. Though I still have time, for me It felt like I had no time and I just quickly picked classes in order to be sure I was following the path I picked.
