You’ve seen it, I’ve seen it, your grandmother has probably seen it. Notre Dame is out of the college football playoff. The most prestigious college football team in all of America, a true blue blood, was left out for a 10-3, mid Alabama Crimson Tide. Along with other puny group of 5 teams like James Madison and Tulane University.
How did a team who get both metaphorically and literally “dog-walked” by the Georgia Bulldogs 28-7, and barely scrape past Auburn, 27-20, sneak in over a Notre Dame team who outscored opponents by an average of 297 points over the final ten games (the highest margin of any team in playoff consideration.) It’s scoffable how an embarrassing Miami and Alabama team get to waltz into the playoffs, and I would bet the souls of my family and future children, lose by more than 28 points in their respective games.
Miami fans, if there are any of you, close your eyes, because I’m clearly going to disrespect you. The Hurricanes “proved” that they belong in the playoffs because they beat Notre Dame week 1, by three points… then lost to unranked Louisville… and then unranked southern methodist… Notre Dame’s only losses were to 10th ranked Miami and 7th ranked Texas A&M.
Clearly Miami is the better team, and deserves the spot more, it’s not like Notre Dame is capable of making the national championship, besides last year. Have fun getting vanquished at College Station.
In closing. The college football playoff committee needs to stop with the DEI and quit hiring blind people to determine who makes the playoff. I’m excited to see fraudulent teams like Oregon, Miami, and Alabama get stomped into dust, but I’d be more excited watching Notre Dame win the national championship.
