Uno, a classical card game that began in 1971 in Ohio was made by Merle Robbert. It was created to end the dispute over the rules in Crazy 8th. He sold 5,000 copies from his barbershop. Mattel owned the rights to the game back in 1992. Today, Uno is known as one of the best card games to play at family gatherings, with friends or with a random stranger.
Instead of praising this game, I’m here to ask, “Is Uno really this friendly game that anyone can get along in? With so many variations of this game we have to ask ourselves: what are the proper rules?” Ask a different person, and most people will give a different answer, causing distress and confusion between the two people or the party at large playing the game.
Uno has never really been consistent with the rules; whenever you try to find the actual rules, you’ll find different versions all over the internet. Whether that be their X page, video game, and videos everyone has seen different rules for this one simple game. Its spin-offs dont have that issue due to them having a more strict playstyle so with all in mind. Uno has to be the most unorganized game, doesn’t mean it’s any less fun. So drop whatever you’re doing and go play some Uno, and don’t argue about rules because obviously stacking a +2 on a +4 is dumb.
