Bruno Mars, a man once known for songs that lifted moods, that played at weddings, made such good music, but the new music he features in, for lack of better words, sucks. Bruno Mars fell off.
The gaps between music releases lasted for years, and fans never knew when they would get something new. Some of his new songs are lackluster and very unfortunate compared to the poetry he used to create.
Bruno Mars had a five-year gap between his 2016 release and a song he collaborated on with another artist in 2021. Then, finally, the fans got another collab in 2024, with a promise for more music. This was a really good step. We were finally getting music, and “Die with a Smile” was pretty good; more seemed pretty promising.
Until it wasn’t. He collaborated on songs like “APT.”, and a song name I should refrain from putting in this article. “Die with a Smile” was playing on repeat on radios everywhere, and it flooded social media. It is so unbelievably overplayed that I cringe when I hear it now.
He then released “I Just Might”. This song sounds like it would go in a “Trolls” season finale with Branch confessing his love for Poppy over the sunset.
Bruno Mars fell off, and hard. I think that it is time we start accepting it. His old music is top tier; however, I wouldn’t even give his new music a tier.
