Blackfoot High School, October 28, 2025: Students participated in a no-tech day. A day when not even the teachers were allowed to use computers for work, and all assignments were done on paper or other non-device materials.
Teachers were asked to print the assignments the day before so that they would not have to use printers, and students were asked not to bring their iPads. Brian Moreno (10) said that the worst part was not being able to play games.
JD Mortensen (9) voiced, “It was alright, I don’t know. I’d rather have tech, but it wasn’t like the worst day ever.”
The two boys were also asked why it was important to go without tech for once. Moreno responded, “It is important because you can learn a lot more things on paper.” Mortensen pointed out that it is good for our brains to have a break.
Though students didn’t like it. No tech Tuesday was a good break for high schoolers’ brains and helped prepare them for if they couldn’t use tech at one point. See you next time on the Broncwriter.
