Mrs. Angela Nelson says that if she could have any job besides being a librarian, she would be a pilot.  Nelson says that she became a librarian because she wanted to be closer to her kids. She served the students of Ridgecrest Elementary as a librarian for 7 years before moving to Blackfoot High School. Nelson enjoys the reading environment at BHS because she enjoys reading the same types of books as the students instead of just focusing on picture books or children’s books, but she really enjoys reading The Selection series.  She appreciates the conversations with students about books they are reading, and Nelson says her favorite things about Blackfoot High School are the connections she makes with students over their love of reading and books and also working with students. She says if she could change one thing about the library it would be to add more books. Mrs. Nelson also mentions that the most checked out books in the library are The Selection series.

Mrs. Nelson also has a dog; it’s a beagle named Ellie. She really likes to take photos during her free time but specifically senior photos. One way Nelson describes herself is being shy until you get to know her. She grew up in Rupert, Idaho, and would tell her younger self not to worry about the mistakes that were made in the past.  Her biggest inspiration is her sister because she’s always positive even when she’s having a bad day, she’s still positive.  Nelson’s favorite food is homemade Mexican food, specifically tortillas and chicken mole, and her favorite sport is basketball. If Nelson could travel anywhere in the world, she would choose Denmark because she wants to visit her friend who was a foreign exchange student who lived with her. If she could change anything about the world, it would be how mean people are to each other which supports her favorite quote, “In a world where you can be anything, be kind”. Mrs. Nelson’s favorite moment in history is World War II;  she says she really likes to learn about that topic. Her favorite high school memory is graduating. Nelson’s favorite type of music to listen to is old hard rock. Her favorite movies to watch are A Few Good Men and A Time to Kill.  The reason Mrs. Nelson stayed in Idaho is because all her family is down here, but she wants to retire in Montana.
