Blackfoot wins consolation at state
Blackfoot soccer rebounded from their tough loss to Twin Falls in penalty kicks. Blackfoot then came back to beat Pocatello and Nampa to finish in 5th place at state, winners of the loser bracket.
In an interview with Geo Labra [12th], he had this to say about the team’s performance, as well as their future.
How do you believe that the team performed as a collective at state?
“I think that in the first game, that we were disappointed, cause (we) know that a lot of people, especially at school, were cheering us on, and to lose from penalty kicks is always disappointing, especially when you were up 2-0, but to bounce back for the next two games and at least come home with some hardware softens the blow.”
Do you believe the team will improve next year, or is it uncertain?
“It’s tough to say, especially since we are losing so many seniors, I know that there will have to be people stepping up, and carving themselves out as leaders on this team, which we just don’t know yet.”
Blackfoot placed 5th at state, and is hoping to bounce back next year for an even greater season.
