When you open your eyes and suddenly realize that you are in an airplane thousands of miles from home, when you have been in a flight for eighteen hours and need to take another one for four more, when you talk to your parents once a week, when you look in the mirror and see a better you, when you meet different people everyday, when you don’t have the food you like, when you wake up in a different bed than the once you’ve been sleeping in for years, when you can’t speak in your mother language fluently anymore, when you have fun with your friends, but they are not the ones that have been with you throughout your childhood, when you discover a new you, then you will know what it is like to be an international student.
