Sabrina Carpenter’s sixth studio album, Short n Sweet (explicit warning), was released on August 23rd of this year. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 200 where it remained for three consecutive weeks. It is simply a masterpiece!
There are 12 songs on the tracklist for the album. Each song is really fun and I feel as though you can sing along to any of them. The Bed Chem singer has such a sweet voice that when paired with some of the insane lyrics in her songs, it is just so funny.
Carpenter’s song Please Please Please was her first ever number one hit on the Hot 100, which was well deserved as. At the VMAs this year, the singer’s song Espresso, won song of the year. It also peaked on the Billboard at #3.
With the release of the album, a music video for the single Taste was also put out onto YouTube. The video went viral immediately due to the insane and hilarious violence depicted, showing two girls fighting over a guy. The fun song paired with this crazy video is so unhinged but that’s what I love about it. It starred famous actress and Carpenter’s friend, Jenna Ortega. It references popular thriller movies like Death Becomes Her (starring Meryl Streep)and Kill Bill.
Short n Sweet is one of the most catchy albums I have ever listened to. Each song is so unique but all have a special sound that keeps them connected as an album. Probably the most unhinged group of songs I have listened to; her crazy lyrics keeps Carpenter’s album interesting and really entertaining.
My personal favorite would be Good Graces because of its memorable tune and lyrics. Sabrina Carpenter really outdid herself with this album. It is by far her best one yet. It is making history and will continue to, which will be well deserved.
