Jack Schroeder

Jack Schroeder, Staff Reporter

Jack Schroeder is a 17 year old student at BHS. He would describe himself as “kind of quiet,” he won’t usually initiate a conversation first but is always up for a nice conversation. He has four siblings and is the youngest out of all of them. He also has two amazing pets, a pug pomeranian mix named Midge and then a goldendoodle named Moyra. Fun fact about Jack, his biggest pet peeve is the way some people say nuclear, “When people say Nuclear wrong. When it is clearly said the way it is spelled.” If you were to ask Jack why he joined the newspaper he would tell you that he was peer pressured into it, ”I was Peerpressured. Heavily.” Even though he was heavily peer pressured, he is so glad he joined and it has become one of his favorite classes. With him being a senior, Jack has taken many classes, some he’s enjoyed, while others he didn’t. When asked what class has been his favorite out of his time here, he said that Miss. Bynum’s classes have been the ones he enjoyed the most.”The learning is more personal based. You learn things on your own instead of relying on just the teacher.” As of right now, Jack’s favorite class is newspaper. Although he wishes it was later in the day instead of first hour. For example, last year it was 6th hour which gave each staff member time to wind down and just write, which he really enjoyed. Before graduating this year, his one main goal is to win a state championship with his friends on the  varsity football team.

Even though he is a senior Jack states that he still feels like a freshman, he gives an example of past seniors he’s seen before. “That guy’s huge because he’s a senior! But as a senior you don’t feel huge. You feel the same way and size you have been for years.” Even though he may still feel like a freshman he knows his stuff when it comes to being a student at BHS. Some advice that he would like to give to any and all underclassmen is, “Don’t be annoying and learn how to walk in the halls. There’s going to be a day where someone isn’t as nice as me and run you over on purpose.” After high school his plans are to go to college; at first he looked at Boise State University but decided that Idaho State University seemed like a better fit. Though he doesn’t know what he would like to major in college, he finds himself leaning towards the production of music. He has been interested in music since he was nine and that interest and love has grown even more interested in it since he has learned how to produce music. Another factor that weighed in on his choice for school is the fact that he likes smaller towns rather than the city, “City aren’t that smart.” Although he doesn’t really like the city very much he has said that he may end up in a city anyways just due to his passion for music.
