Attracting both basketball fans and America’s Got Talent fans to the new gymnasium, the packed student section, the news reporters, and the audience all together clearly demonstrated the Blackfoot vs. Highland boys’ basketball game was the place to be January 3.

From live television to the small town of Blackfoot, Idaho, Americas got Talent season 12 top 10, finalist Evie Clair performed the national anthem and performed half time with her little sister. After premiering in AGT season 12 and finishing in the top ten she has returned to her dad’s hometown within the Snake River area for the holidays. Performing at local churches, basketball games and attending a church dance, Clair has made an impact on Idaho.

With over 16,000 monthly Spotify listeners and preforming at churches across America, the 13 year old performer has made a name for herself.

Clair’s first performance on the NBC show was dedicated to her father battling cancer, and her last performance was her telling him goodbye after he passed away.

“I hope I made you proud, Daddy. I’ve always done it for you and I’ll do it for you forever,” Clair wrote on an Instagram post moments after he passed. Her plan if she won the TV show was to use the million dollars to find a better treatment for him, and she hopes to inspire people going through the same struggles as her family went through with her music.

“She seemed really nice” Rachel Hatch (10) said, “and it was fantastic to see the student section so full and so excited.”
