On My Block

Spending about 5 hours in one day watching a Netflix Original Series called On my Block created by Lauren Lungerich, Eddie Gonzalez, and Jeremy Haft was released April 13. The series is about four smart and funny teens who live in a rough part of Los Angeles whose friendship is being tested in high school. The series has romance, comedy and drama all in one. There are ten episodes in the series and about 30 minutes long.

The actors in the series are Sierra Capri as Monse Finnie, Jason Genao as Ruben “Ruby” Martinez, Brett Grat as Jamal Turner, Diego Tinoco as Cesar Diaz and Ronni Hawk as Olivia. In my opinion all the actors did great because they all had that rugged/ rough attitude in the series. Their acting was great because they would have rough scenes where there would be fighting or shooting and their acting made everything feel so real and it was their everyday life.

In the series it starts with meeting all the main characters and they are watching a house party go on when they hear a gunshot sound and run off into the distance. The next scene they meet at Ruby’s house where we find out Monse has deep feelings for Caesar and she is going to a Writing summer camp. In the next episode Monse comes back from summer camp to find out Cesar’s gangster brother is out of prison. Ceasar makes a mistake and joins the gang with his brother. The gang is called the Los Santos.

I would recommend watching the show because it’s really has you on your edge of your seat. The last episodes really does have you asking questions such as: WHY AND WHAT!?? But the Netflix Series promised to have a season 2 coming soon on Netflix next year, so hopefully a lot of questions are answered.
