District Results for Blackfoot Wrestling

The wrestling season is nearing an end and the results are coming in. On February 14, the Blackfoot High wrestling team competed at Pocatello High School in the District V & VI Championship Tournament. The team collectively a scored a total 296 points, placing second overall.

Blackfoot now has three district champions: Esai Castaneda, Boeden Bassett, and Nathan Sargent. Sargent’s current record stands at 44-0.

As a result of district rules stating that the top four placers in each weight class qualify to participate in the State Tournament, Blackfoot will have a rather large representation.

Others that will be competing at State this year include Lana Hunt (3^rd), Landon Abercrombie (2^nd), Talan Spanbauer (3^rd), Zac Thompson (4^th), Camron Gifford (4^th), Landon Evans (2^nd), Austin Despain (3^rd), Braxton Robinson (2^nd), Jacob Despain (3^rd), Nick Chappell (2^nd), and Payton Woodland (4^th).

The 4A State Wrestling Championship will be held on February 23- 24 at Holt Arena in Pocatello.
