Lush, green and beautiful Germany is a very underrated country. It might be overlooked because of its dark past, but it is home to many large, magnificent cathedrals and large lakes surrounded by mountains and trees.
30% of Germany is forested and is home to 16 national parks like the Berchtesgaden National Park, Saxon Switzerland National Park, and Eifel National Park. Germany is also home to many different species of plants and animals.
Germany is more than just beauty, though. It is home to many delicious foods and treats, like bratwurst and Weßiwurst. Beer is also a big part of Germany’s culture, and it has one of the largest beer consumption rates per capita in the world (Merkel).
Food is good, but how about tourism? Germany is famous for its many cathedrals. The most famous of which is The Cologne Cathedral, one of the largest in the world. Along with their cathedrals goes castles, Germany is home to many castles such as the Wartburg Castle, Heidelberg Palace, and The Royal Neuschwanstein Castle which was an inspiration for the castle in Sleeping Beauty (“70 Typical German Things – What is Germany Famous & Known for.”).
Many Famous people who did amazing things also came from Germany. Albert Einstein was born in Ulm, Germany (Wheeler). While Ludwig Van Beethoven was born in Bonn Germany (“Ludwig van Beethoven”).
Germany is an underrated country. It should be more recognized for its beauty, food, culture, and amazing people. Maybe next time you think about going on vacation, try Germany.
