The Blackfoot marching band season has started. They have been practicing and doing hard work for this year to bump their scored and play big. The marching band has a total of 5 competitions this year.
They have participated in 3 competitions so far, one at Maddison, another in Caldwell and the most recent one in Burley. They had a rough start at Maddison, they got placed last but they did not gave up.
On the second completion in Caldwell they got placed second and their color guard got placed first in their division. A week later they had another in burley. A lot of people say it succeed since it was rainy and wet and cold so not a perfect day for a competition. On this competition they scored a 77.5 and placed third in their division. The marching band hasn’t had the best start but they will not stop pushing hard to place first and be the best in the state.
Chad McGee (12), plays saxaphone. McGee said, “I’ve been in a marching for 9 years and love every second of it. I’ve made many friendships throughout the years and just fallen in love with it.” He enjoys the show that they do but he’s excited to play pep toons like sevens nation army.
Liam Martin (12) plays percussion. He join the marching band because of his brother who did marching band 4 years prior and because of the community and the people.
Breanna Bloom (10) plays the flute. She joined the marching band because she thought it was new experience to participate in. Her favorite song is the Blackfoot High School spirit song.
The marching band hasn’t had the best start, but keep on going and practicing for the Blackfoot Broncos!!!
