Blackfoot High School welcomed new teachers Heidi Harmon, Ruby Galloway, Jason Taylor, Matai Harrigfeld and Taylor Clapp for the 2025 – 2026 school year. We met with each teacher for a quick Q&A. Read on to get to know them!
Q. What do you teach?
Harmon: Math.
Galloway: Spanish and Latinos in Action.
Taylor: English and Social Studies.
Harrigfeld: Ag Mechanics, Heavy Machinery, and Welding
Clapp: English, Beginning and Advanced Speech and Debate
Q. What made you want to be a teacher?
Harmon:”Runs in the family.”
Galloway: “…being able to help students.”
Taylor: “It seemed when I was in school that academics and athletics were in a bit of conflict with each other. I wanted to coach wrestling and teach English and bring them together.”
Harrigfeld: “Started coaching football and liked teaching the players.”
Clapp: “Group projects and working.”
Q. What do you enjoy about being a teacher?
Harmon: “Love the opportunity and be a light for people.”
Galloway: “My students and helping teach them.”
Taylor: “I enjoy those times when I can see that something we do matters.”
Harrigfeld: “I love when kids get interested and take part in activities.”
Clapp: …enjoys making connections with students.
Q. What’s one of your hidden talents/hobbies?
Harmon: Can sing the alphabet backwards.
Galloway: Really enjoys being outside and fishing
Mr. Taylor doesn’t have one.
Harrigfield: loves football and horseback riding
Clapp: loves baking.
Q. What’s a favorite book, movie, or TV show, and why?
Harmon: Book series is “Janitors.”
Mrs. Galloway: One of her favorite movies is “50 First Dates.”
Taylor: his favorite movie is “Stand By Me.”
Harrigfield: enjoys “Cowboys” with John Wayne.
Clapp: Her favorite book is “I Want to Trust You, but I Don’t.”
