Jessica Alvarez, our Floral Design teacher here at Blackfoot High School. Has much more to her than just being awesome at arranging flowers. Mrs. Alvarez moved to Blackfoot about three years ago after living her whole life in Valor, California. So today we’re taking a surface level dive into what makes Mrs. Alvarez, Mrs. Alvarez.
The obvious first question to ask was, if she’d always planned on being a teacher. Dreams change and life happens, but there’s always been one thing Mrs. Alvarez has never doubted, and that’s been becoming a teacher. She’s always known this was the career path she’d take.
Mrs. Alvarez states that if there’s one thing she loves about teaching the most, it’s being able to see her students get excited about the projects that they finish.
And with her being the Floral design teacher, obviously I had to ask about her favorite flower. It used to be sunflowers, but as of recently It’s a Dahlia!
Mrs. Alvarez also shared that she has a few siblings, including one brother and two sisters.
With little hesitance she admitted her favorite hobby is arranging flowers! Predictable, but at least she’s passionate.
To pass the time during her summers she likes to travel to new places and of course, visit her family in her birth state of California.
And finally, to satisfy my own curiosity, I asked her: “Where do you go during lunch everyday?” and as it turns out, she has lunch with Mr. Hansen everyday.
