Blackfoot High senior Ava Savage is a prime example of hard work pays off. She has earned multiple exemplary achievements during her time in high school.
She was recently crowned Miss BHS during the annual competition. Savage competed on behalf of the girls wrestling team, a program she’s been a part of throughout high school, which was just started a few years ago and is rapidly growing at BHS. She described that experience as really fun and she hadn’t really expected to win. She definitely deserved it though, in the eyes of the BHS student body.
Among her accomplishments is winning the state Autos in April 2025. This award is incredible because this particular competition doesn’t split up into 4A, 5A, 6A, etc. It also isn’t split between boys and girls like sports are. No, this is the entire state of Idaho competing for the title. Savage (12) took it home.
The competition details all of the mechanics that go into a car. She explains that with a car, there are all different parts that make it into a running vehicle, “like a house.” This includes, according to Savage, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc. There were separate stations set up that are each scored differently based on what it is. Savage was able to get the highest score overall after everything was tallied up.
Being a part of the Autos has been something that Savage has really loved. She participated in the club over her four years at BHS.
After graduation, she plans on going to college in the US to learn and enhance her skills in that field. Furthermore, when asked about her future plans, Savage said, “My dream is to own my own shop and build drag cars.” This is her definite goal for her future.
Ava is a great example of the Blackfoot High School 2025 graduating class. Her ambition and hard work are something that other students can look up to in the years to come. It will be so exciting to see where her life and dreams lead her.
