Flight Risk was an awful movie that really does not deserve a second, heck, a first viewing. There is no need to sum up the movie since literally nothing meaningful happened throughout the whole 1 and a half hours. The whole movie takes place in a small private plane and could have been a really impressive claustrophobic horror if it hadn’t been created in just 22 days.
Mark Wahlberg has never had a worse role. First, let’s analyze the costuming. Wahlberg’s dome was shaved in the middle to make him appear bald. This would be almost permissible if you couldn’t see quarter-inch hairs growing back out of his head like a newly mowed lawn. Also, he attempted to act like a maniac with lizard-like tongue-flicking and a ridiculous amount of catcalling.
Before I rant about his performance too much, the whole plot of the movie was outright silly. It had about 4 twists that were neither surprising nor exciting and so did not evoke any emotion in the audience besides laughter. The catharsis at the end was choked by the cycle of more problems approaching every minute even when you think everything is resolved.
Overall, 2/10. I feel bad giving it a rating.
