Averie McBride is an 18-year-old Blackfoot High senior. She is a kind person, and a loyal friend.
McBride is involved with NHS and Blackfoot High’s Cheer Team. She has been involved with cheer for 5 years, beginning in 8th grade. McBride says her favorite memory from it was winning state, because when they won, every other team there got on their feet, hugging and congratulating them.
When she isn’t cheering, or studying to maintain her 4.0 GPA, McBride enjoys reading and sketching. Her favorite genre is “anything fiction”, and her favorite book is Fairytale by Stephen King. She also enjoys spending time with her family, whom she is very close with. She has two older sisters and two dogs.
Some fun facts about her is that she likes Reese’s, has tried a rambutan (they taste like grapes), and her favorite movie is Now You See Me. Also, last year, she took part in DYW, where she became the only person in her family to win the Talent Award. Her favorite teacher is Kenny Dahle, her advisory teacher, because, as she said, he’s cool! Her favorite subject is Peer Tutoring, because she likes not only helping others, but also the unique atmosphere and outlook it provides her. She said, “I got randomly thrown in it last year, and I thought I was going to hate it, but I’ve gone back every trimester since.”
If McBride could be remembered for one thing, it would be how she made people feel. She would like to be known as someone who helped others and did good.
And that, ladies and gents, is Averie McBride in a wrap!
