All students are aware of the Red Banner System with everyone having opinions on it. The question is, does the Red Banner System work? We asked a couple of students around the campus about their opinions on the Red Banner System which resulted in having mixed opinions with some liking the system as it encourages good behavior while some disliking it because everyone gets in trouble for the actions of a few.
Claire Baker (12), one of the many students asked about the system, states that she doesn’t mind the Red Banner System as it works as intended.
Paula Maldonado, a teacher at Blackfoot High School agrees that it does work as she believes it helps with taking accountability for behaviors and lets us know how we are doing as a school.
“It gives the benefit that behavior can be monitored and be told what is right and what is wrong. I also just love getting the hour lunches” Maldonado stated when interviewed about the subject.
To get the opinion of one more, Roger Thomas was also asked if he believes that the system he and the Student Council have set up seems to work.
“We have benefited from it because the school has ended up cleaner and less infractions have been caused as students are now motivated along with being incentivized for their good behavior” Thomas commented.
While it is a system that has a lot of mixed opinions about it, the Red Banner System is still something that the Blackfoot High School still uses and seems to plan to continue using as it has made the school better overall. As always, this has been Luisrey Moreno Zamora, bringing your news about the campus through the BroncWriter, signing off.
