Blackfoot, ID —— Fancy Footwork was founded in 2024 by Jaden Yancey and Kimball Williams. The two founders started this business as fundraising events for Jason Jensen. Jensen and his family have been going through some struggles which is why Fancy Footwork was put into business. The hope is to raise enough money to donate the majority of it to the Jensen family.
Yancey says, “I wanted to start this business because there are not a lot of safe and fun things to do here. I wanted to create an environment where people could be safe and have fun while learning to dance. People here don’t know how to dance and that is something I am trying to change.”
Their most recent dance was held on December 13, 2024. Some attendees of the dance stated that the dance was fun and they enjoyed Yancey’s mom teaching them some line dancing. The DJ for the dances is Caden Corry who stated the following, “the dances had good energy, and everyone seemed to have fun”.
Going into the future, Yancey and Williams want to create more dancing events such as competition dancing and circle dancing to try and make it more unique. Williams stated that the dance was an absolute blast and a success. These entrepreneurs [Yancey and Williams] have lots coming to them and their business.
The next dance is the main fundraiser for Jensen and it does not have a set date yet. It is planned to be in January sometime.
