The 2024 presidential election was held on Tuesday November 4, 2024. After all the ballots were counted, former president Donald J Trump won the White House. Trump won with 312 electoral votes. For Idaho alone, 67% of Idaho voters had voted for the former president. Donald Trump and his new Vice President, JD Vance, will be inaugurated into office on January 20th, 2025.
For Idaho, elections for House representatives were also held. One of the winners of these ballots was Russ Fulcher, who has been representing Idaho since 2019. Mike Simpson, an Idaho house representative since 1999, was also voted to continue representing Idaho.
Also included in the ballots this year was Proposition One. This passing would have opened the primary ballots and Idaho. Additionally, it would change the primary elections to have a rank voting system. It did not win with a vote of 69.6% against it.
Finally, Amendment One was an option on the ballots in Idaho. This amendment is one that bars non-U.S citizens from voting in the state of Idaho. The vote was whether or not to support this amendment. It was passed with 64.9% of Idahoans voting ‘yes.’ That means there will be no changes in the constitution.
