There are new things coming to Esports at Blackfoot High School, like a bunch more games!
Last year, Esports participated in Valorant, Overwatch 2, and Super Smash Bros Ultimate. There are new games mixed into Esports this year: Rocket League, APEX Legends and Fortnite.
Esports hosted an open lab on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from October 22-30 after school.
The official date for the beginning of tryouts will be Tuesday and Wednesday, from November 6 -20. If you do decide to try out, I highly encourage you to.
The community is fun and it surrounds you with many people with the same interest as you. You can make new friends to hang out with plus it gives you something to do if you got nothing to do over the weekend. So come by tryout!
You can join the Google Classroom or talk to Coach Hudson and Coach Folsom for more information about it, please contact the Esports Club if you are interested in joining competitive battles and trips for the competitions!
Hudson said he became a coach for Esports because he noticed Blackfoot was falling behind in competitive competitions for esports. He wanted to be able for kids to have something bigger than just sports and show that video games can have the exact same strategies as a team and in competitions. Students can get college grants and earn money. Hudson highly encourages these reasons for joining Esports.
If you want to try out find Hudson or Folsom in the 500 hall. So come by during lunch or anytime you have time to and try out!
