Mr. Donovan Lindsay never planned to become a teacher, but the job might as well have fallen into his lap. Lindsay said, “Teaching kinda chose me.”
He then remembered how a friend from church who worked at Blackfoot mentioned the high school was looking for math teachers.
Choosing to work at Blackfoot High was a pretty easy decision. His kids go here as well as live in Blackfoot and Blackfoot being his hometown as well it was an easy and convenient option.
Before teaching, Lindsay went to school at Idaho State University where he earned an associate degree in electronics and later got a bachelor’s degree in robotics. Teaching, Lindsay says, has changed him, making him a more patient and open-minded person, especially when it comes to understanding what students might be going through at home.
When asked if he would ever change careers he had multiple jobs before but teaching is his favorite by far. “I enjoy what I do and hope to retire as a teacher,” Lindsay said, showing just how passionate they are about teaching.
