The blood drive at Blackfoot High School was spectacular! Many wonderful people gave a big hand to donate their blood to help the need to save others. There were plenty of helpers who provided snacks and care to brave blood donors. I interviewed three brave donors, one helper about to donate blood, and Abbie Anderson (12) who was in control of the whole blood drive.
Leah Mecham, a senior at Blackfoot High School, has now donated blood three times. Mecham says she donates blood knowing that it will save lives. I
Sara Kent, also a senior at Blackfoot High School, has donated about three times now. Kent donates blood because when she was little, her grandpa was ill and in need of blood. This has inspired her to donate blood to help others.
Another great volunteer who donated blood for the first time is Maddisen Moffet. She was nervous but was very brave to donate blood, to find out her blood type, and to save the lives of others.
Allison Myint was a volunteer at the blood drive. Myint has now donated for the first time and she has provided comfort and help to those donating blood.
Anderson has been in HOSA for four years and has been inspired to create a blood drive. She stated, “I’ve been doing HOSA for four years and am interested in the medical field.” She has donated blood twice and is a brave soul who encourages others to help as much as possible by donating blood.
