The juniors’ volleyball boys dominated the PowerBuff games that occurred on Monday, September 23, 2024.
As a part of the Homecoming festivities, some boys of Blackfoot High School participated in the Volleyball Tournament called PowerBuff.
The tournament went as follows:
Freshman vs Sophomores
Winner vs Juniors
Winner vs Seniors
Each section of the tournament included two games that would go until one team reached 25 points. If both teams won a game in a section, there would be a third game that was played until a team reached 15 points.
The Freshman took the first victory and would go on to play against the Juniors. The Juniors, including Austin Arave and Cash Dalley, defeated the Freshman and were set to compete against the Seniors.
After the seniors’ grand entrance, the game that commenced was crazy entertaining. Juniors took the first victory. The seniors took the next game. In the tie-breaker game, the junior team won the tournament overall scoring 15 points versus the seniors’ 9 points.
Junior Austin Arave said his favorite part of the games was “definitely beating the seniors.” Arave really enjoyed playing with the kids his age and really enjoyed the experience of playing volleyball. His mom, Chelsey Arave, is coach for the volleyball teams and helped prepare the boys for the PowerBuff tournament.
These entertaining matches were a great way to kick off the homecoming season!
