Blackfoot High School has a new counselor this year. Charlie Hansen answered a few questions about herself and her goals for being a counselor. We interviewed her so we as a school can welcome her to her first year as a Bronco.
Before working as a counselor she worked at a Trauma Focused Facility and worked with individuals, couples, and families before slowly moving her way into education.
Hansen graduated from Blackfoot High School. Some of the current teachers were teaching when she was in school.
Shortly after Hansen finished high school, she attended college to receive her master’s degree in Counseling.
Hansen has been working for the school district for seven years. For her first six years of working for the school district, she was the counselor at Independence High School until she was transferred to Blackfoot High School.
She was excited about working here at the high school. Hansen explained that she is excited for this school year and what it will bring her.
So far, she is enjoying the change from her last job. “I am liking the different pace, atmosphere and more students and staff here at Blackfoot High School,” Hansen said, “My goal in education is to help as many students as possible.”
