Senior Class President Jake Reid (12) has been a part of student council presidencies in Blackfoot High School for two years now. He plans amazing things for the school and the Senior Class of this ‘24-’25 school year. Reid wants to help the school, and the senior class as much as he possibly can to make this a memorable year.
Reid shows a great passion for the school, and the students when he talks about being the president. “Part of it was, you know, colleges like when kids are in leadership positions, and I saw it, it looked fun to do, and I was like ‘I can help make a difference in this school, and I wanted to help make that difference a good difference.’”
Reid talks about how he wants to make this year the best he can for the Seniors. Being in their last year of high school, he wants this to be a great year for them. “I saw how the Senior all-night party went, and my biggest focus was to just help my Senior all-night party be one of the best ones.” He talks about how he wants this to be a good year for not only himself but the kids in the school as well.
Reid talks about how working with the kids is fun, but at the same time can be a little stress-inducing. “I like the people, most of them are really fun to work with. They’re just really good and hard-working people.”
Reid talks about his previous year, being the Vice President, and how he wishes that he didn’t “slack off as much”. “I wouldn’t have slacked off so much, I would’ve put in some work and paid more attention.” He talks about how he has changed as a person from these experiences, and how he grew from where he was last year. “I’m just more confident in myself this year, but I still wouldn’t have changed anything, really.”
Reid shows the way he has grown, and he talks about the school with great passion. He is excited to see the way the school will grow after his presidency, and what he can do to make people more excited about this year.
