“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” has been released and the movie theaters have cleared the way to make space for this fun movie.
“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” is a horror comedy based on the original film of the Beetlejuice franchise.
It stars Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice himself, Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz, and Catherine O’Hara as Delia Deetz. Some new stars introduced in the second movie are Jenna Ortega as Astrid Deetz, Lydia’s daughter, Arthur Conti as Jeremy Frazier and Justin Theroux as Rory, Lydia’s husband-to-be and Astrid’s new step-dad.

Pros:
Great acting from all of the actors. Everyone was in actor mode and it was delightful. It didn’t seem like they were reading line for line.
The graphic quality is unique in the second movie. There are scenes in “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” where colors appear very trippy, hypnotizing and amazing.
There were great humorous moments in “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.”
The sets in the underground world are mesmerizing and cool to look at. It reminds me of a circus or maze of mirrors in a way.
Some of the outfits through Beetlejuice Beetlejuice are decently good for the movie itself.
Cons:
Some things bothered me when watching the movie. Firstly, Beetlejuice’s Baby. I get the purpose of the movie was horror comedy but the baby was disturbingly disgusting. I didn’t find a purpose or point for the baby in the movie either.
Second, Beetlejuice’s deceased ex-wife barely had any screen time. She also seemed very useless in the movie. I get that she was supposed to find Beetlejuice and that she was a literal soul sucker but there already was enough to deal with when Astrid was about to lose her life to a boy named Jeremy she just met. Beetlejuice’s ex-wife was too pretty to have barely any screen time in the movie.
The same thought goes for the end of the movie when Astrid gets married. There could have been more time with her and her man in the movie, not just thirty seconds of them glancing at each other and then getting married next clip. I get it could’ve been a clip part of Lydia’s nightmare, but there was no point of that at all to me anyway.
What I believe:
“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” was a great movie overall, but there could’ve been some better things done, such as Astrid and Lydia returning to the real world, and more screening for Beetlejuice’s ex-wife.
Personally, I believe Lydia’s outfits seemed similar to the black dress in the first movie, They could’ve kept all black but at least changed the design of the dress.
I believe “Beetlejuice” had a better plotline than the second movie. This movie is probably a seven out of ten to me.
