Uriel Pimentel

Uriel Pimentel, Staff Reporter

Uriel Pimentel is a Senior this year at Blackfoot High School. The 17 year old Rookie joined Newspaper because it just sounded interesting. When asked to describe himself in 5 words or less, he said he was “shy and introverted.” Pimentel is the 4th of 8 siblings, and he and his family keep chickens. His favorite color is purple, his favorite animal is any variety of owl, and his favorite food is spaghetti.

For fun, Uriel enjoys biking, collecting rocks, drawing, and doing farm-related activities. His favorite book series is Warriors by Erin Hunter, and his favorite movie is Shrek. When with friends, he enjoys walking around and trying to find something to do, and just messing around in general, going with the flow more than anything. Of all the hobbits, he likes Frodo the most. Pimentel used to play the piano, but he doesn’t anymore.

If he had a superpower, he would want it to be Telekinesis. If he were a chair, he would be a very comfortable wicker and bamboo chair, similar to the one that can be found in the corner of Mrs. Gerardi’s classroom. When asked for something random about him, he shared that he enjoys sitting in the shower for as long as an hour. The most spontaneous thing he’s ever done is to buy a turtle from a street taco stand. His role model is his dad.

Pimentel's proudest moment was in 4th grade when he made it to state with an Idaho History project. It first won a competition at the fair, and from there, it went to the state competition, and then it won. If he could live anywhere in the world, he would want to live in Canada.

His favorite part about BHS is meeting new people and the opportunity he gets to hang out with friends. Some of Uriel’s favorite classes that he’s taken at BHS are Philosophy with Dr. Dietz, Astronomy with Ms. Bynum, and Vet Science with Mr. Flaming. If he could change anything about Blackfoot High, he would get a new AC system. His least favorite change this year is the combined lunch schedule, because “It’s very crowded.” When he’s not in school, he enjoys being at home, going to the park, growing vegetables, and drawing.

This year in the newspaper, he plans to write some articles about the fair, and use his biggest pet peeve of grammatical errors to help out with the editing process. When he graduates, he wants to move straight to Idaho State University, where he hopes to get two doctorates, one in Engineering and one in veterinary medicine. Using the latter of those degrees, he plans to become a Veterinarian in order to help animals.
