Congratulate all the Hispanics and Latinos since it’s Hispanic Heritage month!!! Hispanics made a huge impact off all North America in many different ways and many achievements. They powered science, politics arts, civil rights and more.
What is Hispanic Heritage month? It’s a month to celebrate Latinos of course. This appreciation month start on September 15th all the way to October 15th. This all started in 1989, President George H. W Bush was the first to official declare this as the appreciation month for Latinos, Although he wasn’t the first to recognize it. President Lyndon B Johnson in 1968 was first to recognize this and made a Hispanic heritage week( started on September 15), President George Bush was the one the extend this appreciation celebration. This weirdly September to October dates specifically placed because most of independence days from other countries like Mexico, chile Costa Rico El Salvador Guatemala and many more.
How can you help celebrate? There are many ways you can help around and celebrate Hispanic Heritage month. You can first go around town and find a local Mexican or Hispanic restaurant and try some new food. You can listen to new music that you never heard of and support some Latinos. You can even watch some movies, or even read a book and try to learn some Spanish. You can even try to join a festival or some parades to help spread Hispanic Heratage month.
Who are some of the Hispanics and Latinos that help with norther America in any way? There are many that help North America and I am going to list some.
- Ellen Ochoa was the first Hispanic woman in space after she have been working with nasa. She also graduated from Stanford and got a doctorate degree for engineering for nasa as an engineering then became an astronaut after.
- Luis von Ann he created the CAPTCHA to determine if you’re human or a robot. He also is a co founder for Duolingo.
- Guillermo González Camarena was an electrical engineer that invented and patterned the early color tv and NASA also used this
